UWI Wins First Games in 2015 JAVA Premier League

The Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA) Premier has returned after a one (1) year absence. Nine (9) male teams and seven (7) female Teams will be vying for the championship this year. The season, which served off on Saturday, March 14, with a double header at the UWI Gym will culminate with the finals at the UTech Gym on July 1, 2015.

In the opening double header at the UWI, UWI male and female teams triumphed with similar 3-0 score lines over their Titans counterparts. The males came away 25-14; 25-15; and 25 -18 winners, while the females scored an easy 25-12; 25-10; and 25-9 victory.

On Sunday March 15, in a competitive encounter, Venus needed five sets to get the better of the Defending Champions, Viking, 23-25; 25-23; 25-23; 21-25; 15-12.

The League continues on March 16, 2015 with a double header at Mico with MOSA male female teams hosting Yallahs and St. James respectively.
