Wright and Wallen Warm up for Cayman

Kai Wright and Sashalee Wallen, who are currently preparing to represent Jamaica in the NORCECA Beach Tour in Cayman, made light work of Cherine Richards and Cheryl Daley during the female finals of the Sandstorm Beach Volleyball tournament held at Aquasol Beach Park in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Sunday 05 April 2015. In front of a good crowd of spectators and beach-goers, Wright and Wallen came away 21-7; 21-10 winners over the defending champions and former national representatives, earning the J$15,000, two day passes to Secrets Resorts and Spas and gold medal prizes.

“We are very pleased with our performance today,” stated Wright. “We will be going to Cayman to compete in the NORCECA Beach Tour and this tournament gave us worthwhile practice. Despite the final score, Daley and Richards, who also played on the NORCECA Tour for Jamaica in the past, played a tenacious game. We were however determined to fight for as many points as possible because the competition in Cayman will be a lot tougher.” Wright and Wallen are also preparing to represent Jamaica in the 2016 Rio Olympics Women Beach Volleyball Qualifiers here in Jamaica at Ocho Rios Bay Beach from 01 – 03 May 2015

In other results, Renae Temple and Cherie Thompson got the bronze medal with victory over the ever-improving national youth pair of Lisanne Roofe and Tionna Graham. The pair of Shamar Williams and Romain Smith were fifth.
